We generally start the process before your employee's arrival in the Netherlands. The length of the process depends on the salary, profile, and city they will be looking in. Without pets and with a decent salary (more than €50,000 in Amsterdam or €40,000 elsewhere), it should take around a month. With pets (especially larger ones) or a lower salary, the process can take up to 2 months.

Inviting employees

To invite your employee to Relocify, simply go to the Employees page and click on the “Invite Employee” button. On the invitation page, you have 3 inputs:

After you submit the form, employees will receive an email invitation to activate the profile.

You will also receive the confirmation and you will be updated along the way about their progress - you will be notified for example when they will accept your invitation.

Onboarding your employee

As soon as they accept your invitation, we will ask them a few questions to check if we can help them.

Once we know that we can work with them, our software will later help them select the right budget and other filters after which they will see some of the available properties.

To request viewings, we ask them to upload their employment contract.

💡 Landlords in the Netherlands require an employment contract and 1 year of payslips (preferably from the Dutch bank) as proof of income. As your employees will be working via us, only the employment contract will be sufficient but it has to be fully signed by both parties.

If it’s a part-time contract so less than one year, then we will need also a letter of intent from your side, stating that you will be happy to prolong their contract after the initial contract ends.

We need the employment contract beforehand to first of all check what kind of properties the person is eligible for and we have only 2-3 hours after the viewing to send the offer which is not enough time to collect all additional attachments to the contract we might need.

💡 Starting date of the rental agreement should be preferably inline with the starting date of the employment contract. Companies generally sign the contract using the current address of the person in their home country and starting date which is close to the arrival date of the person to the Netherlands.

Housing

After the onboarding process, we start searching for the apartment, our representatives go for virtual viewings, upload all the details about properties, and if the person still likes the property they request to rent it.

If the request goes through and the landlord accepts your employee as a future tenant, both parties sign the contract online, we schedule the check-in date and this is the point at which it’s best for the person already to come to the Netherlands to save on temporary accommodation. At this point, they can already check in at their newly rented property on the same day of arrival and start their new life in the Netherlands.
